Pakistani Test Cricketer Sohail Khan led Ashyana to victory against K-Town Cricket Club at UBL Ground on 15-11-2015.
The fast bowler was responsible for leading the Pakistani attack in the world cup and was now again leading the attack, but this time with the bat. His unconventional role of of opening the batting yieded nothing but entertainment for the fans. His surreal innings of 90 from just 40 balls contained 6 boundaries and 8 towering maximums, before getting caught out at mid on. Habib Ullah and Asmat Ullah pitched in with cameos of their own, scoring 43 and 33 respectively to take the Ashyana XI total to 217 at the loss of 5 wickets. Bilal Yousuf was the leading wicket taker for K-Town, sending 3 batsmen back to the pavillion.
In his more conventional role, Sohail Khan was rather disappointing, ending his 4 overs at 0 for 35. Rather, it was the other Khan, Umair, who stole the limelight picking up 2 vital wickets. His first wicket was that of the ever dangerous Fahad Nazir, who was on 63 and posed the greatest danger of stealing the match. The only other star performance with the bat for K-Town came from Humza Khan Kheshgi, who remained unbeaten on 43. However, lack of support from the other end meant that his team would be restricted to 176, 41 runs shy of the target.
