Two teams in desperate need of a victory, Bin Qasim and Medicam faced off in the Dollar East Premier League at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on 17-11-2015.
Batting first, Bin Qasim were only able to post 132 on the board, a seemingly inadequate total. Fahad Jabbar was the only known batsmen who managed to show some sort of class, scoring 26 of 16 balls before being bowled by Toheed Khan. It was mainly the contribution of Didar Azeem and Anus Ahmed, two cricketers who were not in the team for their designated batting ability, that took Bin Qasim to a respectable total. Their contributions of 19 and 26 respectively ensured their team would have a fighting chance in the match.
And this fighting chance was all Bin Qasim needed to galvanize themselves. Fahad Mehmood led the bowling line up with great character, picking up 4 crucial wickets himself. He was supported by Fahad Jabbar and Akber who picked up a couple of wickets each. The Medicam Batsmen were left in awe, as the Bin Qasim bolwers dismantled their entire batting line up. Shahzar Hassan and Waseem Ahmed showed some fighting spirit, but were unable to salvage anything for Medicam as their side was dismissed for 122, falling short by just 10 runs.
