Royal CC smashed Soni Associates by 122 runs in the semi finals of the Dollar East Premier League at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on 19-11-2015.
Batting first, the Royal CC batsmen generated a tremendous amount of runs up front. Zakir Malik regained his good form, smashing a brisk 77 of just 30 balls including 4 boundaries and 3 maximums. His opening partner, Ejaz Shah also batted smartly for his 43 at over a run a ball before getting run out. No harm was done as both new batsmen, Aqib Rizvi and Umer Imtiaz, picked up where their predecessor left off. They tortured both bowlers and fielders alike, piercing the gaps aggressively scoring 44 and 50 respectively to take Royal CC's total to a massive 228.
In response, the Soni Associates batting line up could not hande the pressure of the target and the big match. Their batsmen seemed to melt in front of the Royal CC bowlers and run outs did not seem to help their cause. The only decent partnership was between Ali Iqbal and Qadir Khan for the 4th wicket. Tanveer Ul Haq was the spearhead for the Royal CC bowling attack, picking up 3 important wickets. He was supported by Amjad Manzoor who grabbed 2 wickets as they bowled the Soni Associates out for just 106. This fantastic team performance ensured that the Royal CC juggernaut would rumble in to the finals of the tournament unhindered.
