Shamsi Sports dominated against Surti Builders in a match of the Golden Gate Premiere League Season 4.
Shamsi Sports batted first and were off to a great start. Their openers Ibad ur Rehman (49 off 38 balls) and Muhammad Waqas (42 off 25 balls) stabilized the innings with their meaningful contributions at the top. One-down batsman Ejaz Shah scored a quickfire 42 off just 24 balls to help the team reach a high total. A cameo from Arif Yaqoob (20 off 8 balls) brought the team to an excellent total of 202 runs. Surti Builders’ bowlers were no match for the batsman, with only Akbar Babar performing well and picking up 3 wickets.
Surti Builders’ batting started off stable with Hannan Khan scoring 35 off 26 balls and M. Ali smashing 22 off 9 balls. Malik Karar Ali’s 24 and Mohammad Daniyal Liaquat’s 44 gave the bowlers a hard time, however after their dismissals the tail-end were unable to take the team to victory. Shamsi Sports’ Arif Yaqoob bagged 4 wickets while Ejaz Shah took 3.
Shamsi Sports won the match by 34 runs.
