Karachi Defenders v Cousins XI
Karachi Defenders batted first, scoring runs with a few cameos but also losing wickets and stumbling along the way. The team was falling behind at one point before Faraz stepped in to pick up the momentum and score an unbelievable knock of 77 runs that included 5 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 285. Farhan and Ahsan Nasir bowled well for Cousins XI, picking up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. However Faraz's innings was the one the Defenders required to propel their team to post a massive target of 210 in 20 overs.
Cousins XI were off to a disastrous start in their chase, losing opener Ammad Zafar for duck thanks to some poor running between the wickets! The team lost 6 of their batsmen for single digit scores and were never really in the game. Sherry (56), Yasir Mehmood (34) and Imran Farooq (36) fought hard to chase the target but were unable to get their team over the line. Karachi Defenders bowlers were on fire with Faraz Moheman and Sumair Samin striking at crucial times and picking up a combined total of 7 wickets between them. Cousins XI were eventually bowled out for 181 in 19.3 overs.
