AMADEUS SUPER CRICKETERS vs PARCO BLUES
(2ND CORPORATE CUP SEMIFINAL)
Semifinals are always a test of pressure handling for the teams involved. When you are just one step away from reaching the final, you do put in your best efforts which is exactly what happened in the match between Amadeus Super Cricketers and PARCO Blues. Batting first PARCO Blues never looked comfortable. PARCO Blues lost an opener for naught which had a deep effect on the rest of the batting line up. Adil Aziz Khan provided 18 runs at a reasonable strike rate. None of the other batsmen were able to shift gears according to the need of the situation and played too cautiously, restricting themselves to play free strokes. Sajid Kath claimed 2 scalps giving away only 19 runs. Along him Waliullah and Zahid Akhtar also took 2 wickets each. PARCO Blues managed to score only 117 runs and lost all the wickets at the end of 20 overs.
Amadeus Super Cricketers had a prolific start. Faizan Azam was the pick of the batsmen as he scored a brilliant half century. His exciting knock of 68 runs came of just 47 balls. He was accompanied by Adnan Moiz who scored 26 off 25 balls. A fiery knock of 24 runs off 14 balls was played by Ibad Anis. Except Umar Farooq of the PARCO Blues all other bowlers went wicket less which enabled Amadeus Super Cricketers to win the game by 9 wickets and grab a place in the much awaited finals.
