JINNAH SPORTS vs PERCEPTIONS (FC CHALLENGERS CUP)
After an excellent show with the bat, Jinnah Sports seal the deal as their bowlers made no mistakes.
Jinnah Sports batted first and lost an early wicket which could have damaged their plans. But before they got into any trouble, one end was held firmly by their one down batsman Saeed Hassan. He scored a superb 74 run knock which came off in just 46 balls. His healthy hitting was a proof that apart from Khanimullah no other bowler actually bowled the perfect line and length. Khanimullah took 2 wickets and gave 22 runs in his 4 overs. In the effort of posting a big total Saeed Hassan was not alone. Habibullah played an integral role in increasing the total score for Jinnah Sports. His 52 runs were scored in only 32 balls with a strike rate of 162.5. His display of brilliance was ended by Anas Ballu who sent Habibullah and Saeed Hassan both back to the pavilion. He gave away 28 runs in the process. At the end of 20 overs Jinnah Sports were able to post 177 runs on the board after losing 4 wickets.
Perceptions’ start towards chasing the mammoth target was not an ideal one. After losing their first opener for 4, some resistance was shown by Maqbool Gul. He scored 51 runs off 34 balls before his departure. Though Maqbool’s knock was a lifeline for Perceptions, they couldn’t hold on to it. The lone warrior was not assistance as much as he needed, as the rest of the batsmen couldn’t make a meaningful contribution. It was Navaid Baloch and his exemplary discipline which did not allow the batsmen to fight back. He took 4 wickets and gave away 26 runs in the process. He was assisted by Saeed, Habibullah and Shahid who claimed 2 wickets each.
This all round bowling performance was enough to send the entire Perceptions batting line up back to their dug out in the 19th over. Jinnah Sports won the match by 24 runs.
