This low scoring fixture featured Karachi Fighters and ZMCC. Both the lineups were ready to produce the goods and were eager to embrace victory.
Batting first Karachi Fighters had a poor start. The top order failed stay on the crease for longer periods and could not provide any significant contributions. However Adnan tried to repair the damage with his steady innings which included 4 boundaries. He scored 28 runs off 29 balls and was briefly assisted by Ikhtiyar Shah and Naseer Khan. Ikhtiyar scored 11 off 16 while Naseer got 15 runs to his name. The bowling was perfect from ZMCC. Asad, Danish Moeen and A Naseemt got 2 wickets each while Shoaib Ibrahim and Zeeshan Momia claimed one scalp apiece. Bowlers not only took frequent wickets but also remained economical in their respective spells. Karachi Fighters scored 95 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
What could have been an easy chase for ZMCC became challenging, as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Nothing looked pleasant for ZMCC until the arrival of Danish Moeen at the crease. He steadily and masterfully saved the game. Scoring 34 runs off 45 balls, Danish secured one end and allowed other batsmen to play around him. A Naseemt also helped him with a brisk 19 run knock which came off in 15 balls. Akhtar Ali bowled well and managed to take 2 wickets at the cost of 12 runs in 4 overs. His fellow bowlers also put up a good all round show, as they managed frequent breakthroughs and stayed economical. But it was the last delivery of the 18th over when ZMCC chased down this target and won the match by 4 wickets.
