MEDICAM vs ATEEQ ESTATE ELEVEN (DOLLAR EAST HILL PARK RAMZAN TOURNAMENT)
Two star studded lineups challenged each other in this exciting match of the Dollar East Hill Park Ramzan Tournament. Medicam batted first and were off to a shaky start, as they lost star batsman Sohaib Maqsood for 4. The rest of the middle order could not cash their respective promising starts and gave away their wickets at frequent instances. Things looked troublesome for Medicam until Ayaz Tasawar played a steady run a ball knock of 21 runs. He was joined by Waseem Ahmed who scored 22 runs off 18 balls. In the concluding phases of the innings it was Azam Hussain’s 25 run innings, which enabled Medicam to post a fighting total. Ammad Butt was in good form with the ball, as he got 3 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. Rameez Aziz and Sami ul Haq bagged 2 wickets each, and Faheem Ashraf claimed 1 scalp. Medicam finished with the score of 138 for 9.
Ateeq Estate Eleven had a superb start as their openers looked in great form. Khurram Manzoor and Muhammad Waqas gave their team the ideal start. They batted at a superb strike rate and made life difficult for bowlers. Unfortunately both the openers missed their respective well deserved half centuries, as Khurram Manzoor fell for 45 and Muhammad Waqas was out on 48. The Medicam bowlers made their way back into the game by taking a few quick wickets. To repair the damage Fawad Alam and Rameez Aziz batted cautiously. But this slow batting cost them the match, as they fell just 4 runs short of the target in the last over. This nail biting finish was the courtesy of some fine bowling by the Medicam bowlers. Azam Hussain took 2 wickets while Mouzzam Ali, Arish Ali and Sohaib Maqsood got 1 wicket apiece.
Medicam won this thrilling fixture by 4 runs.
