Eagles CC v Karachi Stallions
6th Residence Cup
Karachi Stallions batted first and were off to a rocky start, losing opener Habibullah for just 5 runs. Number 3 batsman Adnan Salim lost his wicket immediately after for duck. The team fumbled throughout the innings, losing wickets too frequently, unable to gain any kind of stability. Rameez Mehboob and Zohaib were the only notable contributors for their side, scoring 25 and 20 runs respectively. Running between the wickets was a big issue for the Stallions who lost 4 of their batsmen to run outs! They were eventually limited to 108 runs in 18 overs.
Eagles Cricket Club were off in similar fashion, losing their opener Asad Mahmood for just 4 runs. The team stumbled in their chase, unable to gain momentum but kept trudging along. Wickets fell regularly as the Stallions bowlers fought back, with Hassan Ahmed, Shezad Niaz and Arsalan Butt picking up 2 wickets each. Eventually it was minor contributions by Rehan Nazim (20), Zubair Ahmed (20) and Madni (17) that helped Eagles Cricket Club seal the victory. They chased down 109 runs in 17.4 overs.
