HUSH PUPPIES vs BROTHER’S UNITED
(20 OVER MATCH)
A one sided encounter occurred between Hush Puppies and Brother’s United at Agha Khan University Cricket Ground. Hush Puppies outplayed their opponents in all fields of the game. They batted first and were off to a superb start. Both openers pelt the ball all around the park and gathered important runs. Asif Hayat lost his wicket at the score of 39 but that did not halt the scoring rate for Hush Puppies as Farhan Iqbal was joined by Owais Gulzar. Both these batsmen scored freely and made life difficult for the bowlers. Farhan Iqbal scored 82 runs off just 45 balls while Owais Gulzar remained not out yet missed his hundred by 9 runs. He scored 91 runs off just 45 balls. Mohsin Riaz claimed 1 wicket for 10 runs and Hussh Puppies scored 241 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
The target was huge for Brother’s United and they had immense pressure to score at a towering run rate. This got the better of the Brother’s United batting lineup and they failed to come close to the target, let alone chasing it. Two back to back ducks, only 3 batsmen reaching the double figures and a decent bowling performance by Asif Hayat were the ingredients which resulted in a disappointing result for Brother’s United. Asif Hayat bagged 4 wickets for 10 runs. He was supported by the rest of the bowling attack, as 2 wickets each were taken by Saqib Nisar and Faisal Ashraf while Waqas Vohra bagged one wicket. Brother’s United could score only 112 runs and the match was won by Hush Puppies by a margin of 129 runs.
