Engro Fertilizer Vs VectraCom (3rd Challengers Corporate Cup Super League)
VectraCom just edged past Engro Fertilizer as they chased the target in the last over to beat them by 7 wickets.
Engro Fertilizer batted first and did not had the best of games with the bat as only one substantial partnership was formed between Irteza and Ali Hyder, rest of the batting was very disappointing as they did not provide support to any of the two batsmen to gain any momentum. Ali Hyder was the only fifty maker in Engro Fertilizer's innings as he scored an impressive 57 of just 39. His partner Irteza score 35 of 38 and considering the contributions from others it was a good knock under pressure. The main destroyer of Engro Fertilizers batting lineup was Bilal Shafique as he picked 3 wickets and had a very good game.
With not the biggest of target to chase, VectraCom started their chase in a fine fashion. Both openers, Shafqatullah Khan and Talha Bin Haider, looked in fine touch and were both on a role. Just a beginning that VectraCom were hoping for from their openers. A fine partnership was ended when Talha Bin Haider who scored 57 of 39 was dismissed by Mohsin. After his dismissal Abdur Raheem came in and he along with Shafqatullah Khan carried the innings forward. Though both batsmen did not throw their wickets but scoring rate went down after the dismissal of Talha Bin Haider which dragged the match to the last over, Shafqatullah Khan was set and had his eye in so he was not troubled much and he held his nerve to take his side over the line in what turned out be a tense contest in the end.
