LABAIK SPORTS CRICKET TEAM vs AAG CC
(6TH CAMPAIGNER TROPHY)
The 6th Campaigner Trophy is underway and fixtures are getting more and more exciting. Labaik Sports Cricket team took on Aag C.C in this nail biting encounter. Labaik Sports batted first and were off to a decent start. Both openers played some good strokes and gave a solid start to their team. Skipper Zohaib scored 17 runs off 17 balls and immediately after his departure, Labaik Sports suffered another blow as they lost one more wicket. But the remedial work was done by Shazad and Abdul Wahid as they held the innings together and produced a good partnership. Shazad and Abdul Wahid scored 38 and 20 runs respectively and now the stage was set for Fahad to show his heroics. Fareed Yaqoob and Asim took 2 wickets each for Aag C.C. Fahad played an outstanding innings as he went on to score a brilliant half century. Fahad remained not out for 57 runs off 32 balls and helped his team to score 155 runs for the loss of 4 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
Aag CC had a shaky start to their innings as the top order lost their wickets and failed to provide an ideal platform to the rest of the batting lineup. But it was Ali and Mujtaba who saved their side from a possible collapse. Ali scored 28 runs in 29 balls while Mujtaba scored 20 off 18, both providing steadiness to the innings. Fareed Yaqoob tried to accelerate but soon lost his wicket and now Aag CC were relying heavily on Waqas Rao. He batted extremely well and scored 42 runs off just 24 balls. But despite such a brave knock, his team fell just 4 runs short of the target, primarily due to a dismal performance by the tail. Faisal took 3 wickets while Wasiq claimed 2 scalps, and the rest of the bowling attack also contributed well enough for Labaik Sports to win the game by 4 runs.
