Mavericks CC defeated Ilham Sports in a match held on Sunday.
Batting first, Mavericks CC lost one of their openers for a golden duck. However, their other opener Aurranzaib responded by playing a brilliant knock of 71 off 44 balls, including 13 boundaries. He was supported by Khansha, who scored 34 off 28 balls and Muhammad Shahrukh, who made 13 off 17 balls. The remaining batsmen were unable to contribute many runs and the team reached a score of 158. Kazim Khanani took 4 wickets while Bilal Majeed took 3.
Ilham Sports were off to a decent start with the bat as one of their openers, Zain Ahmed, made 39 off 29 balls. However, the batting lineup collapsed and the players seemed helpless in the face of the bowling attack. Although Jawad Walji’ 15 runs offered some resistance to the bowlers, the team were all out for 115 runs. Aurranzaib bagged 3 wickets followed by Faizan Faizi who took 2 wickets. The bowlers bowled economically to seal victory.
Mavericks CC won by 43 runs.
