STRIKERS CC vs SHAN XI
15th CHALLENGERS CUP
Strikers CC met with Shan XI in this one sided fixture of the 15th Challengers Cup. Batting first, Strikers CC had a shaky start as they faced a loss of two early wickets. But Saad Shah and Usman Irfan held the innings together with a classy partnership. On one end Usman kept on rotating the strike, and on the other end Saad Shah smashed the ball in every corner of the park. Usman scored 23 runs off 26 balls while Saad Shah produced the innings of his life as he smashed 95 runs off just 44 deliveries. Even if Saad missed his century by 5 runs, but this innings will stay in his memory for a long time as he helped his team post 183 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Kamran Ahmed took 3 wickets while Athar Gayas and Ahmed Raze grabbed 2 wickets each.
Shan XI needed a solid start to chase a target above 180 runs. Unfortunately things did not pan out the way Shan XI had wished, and the first batsman went out for a score of 2. Talha and Kamran Ahmed tried to hold the innings together but they could not match the towering required run rate and the pressure incremented. Talha got out for 25 while Kamran Ahmed scored 21 runs. The bowling was accurate as Saad Sultan took 3 wickets while Haris Tanveer and Abdullah took 2 wickets apiece. In the 17th over, Shan XI were all out for just 97 runs and the match was won by Strikers CC by a huge margin of 86 runs.
