Wintex Sports Vs Shan XI (20 over Match)
A match winning knock of 77 from 48 balls by Atif helped Wintex Sports beat Shan XI by 21 runs in a high scoring clash.
Wintex Sports batted first and were off to an ideal start as their openers laid a perfect platform. Atif Ahmed in particular was middling the ball very nicely and was in full flow as he smashed every bowler. The power play helped them shift gears and also awful bowling from Shan XI helped their cause but credit should not be taken away from the openers as both were brilliant in the opening partnership. Adnan Salim was a perfect support to someone like Atif Ahmed, as Adnan rotated the strike regularly to give maximum strike to the hard hitting Atif Ahmed. Shan XI finally managed to break the partnership when Adnan was dismissed for 32, but the foundation was already laid for other batsmen. Atif was unstoppable on the other end and in the final stages of the innings he was joined by Madni, who took full advantage of the scenario and played a brilliant cameo of 34 and that of just 10 balls whereas Atif scored a brilliant 77 of 48. In the end Wintex managed to score 196.
After his brilliance with the bat, Madni gave a solid start to Wintex as he dismissed 2 of the first 3 batsmen for naught. It was certainly not the start that Shan XI wanted but they recovered well with the partnership between Rabish Ahmed and Kamran Ahmed who scored 45 and 43 respectively. Rabish was the aggressor as he faced only 23 balls for his 45 whereas Kamran Ahmed was a bit slow in his effort. Noman Ampara then joined in after the partnership ended and he from the word go started smashing the bowlers all over the park. He was brilliant on his way to 68 of just 46 and he threatened to take the game away from Wintex Sports before he was runout. This ended Shan XI chances of chasing 196 and they were folded for 175.
