It was a nail biting encounter between Karachi Hawks and The Sauce in the 6th Residence Cup. The Sauce batted first and were off to a steady start as Muhammad Jahangir Khan and Chao gathered some essential runs. Jahangir scored 25 runs off 22 balls while Chao smashed 33 runs off just 16 balls. After the departure of openers, Asad Butt continued the flow of runs as he scored a brilliant half century. He took 47 balls to score 53 runs but the upcoming batsmen could not cash the platform provided by him. Faraz Kazi picked up two wickets for 24 runs. The Sauce scored 150 runs for the loss of 6 wickets after 20 overs.
In response, Karachi Hawks had a decent start. Zain Ul Abeden and Faraz Kazi scored 32 and 11 runs respectively. But as both openers lost their wickets, the following two batsmen also came back to the pavillion without any contribution. But Ali Zaidi rose to the occasion and took control. With 30 runs off 18 balls Saqlain assisted Ali Zaidi who scored 39 runs off 28 deliveries. Hamza was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets for 33 runs. It was the 19th over when Karachi Hawks chased the target and won the match by 2 wickets.
