STRIKERS CC vs UNITED CC
15th CHALLENGERS CUP
It was an exciting match when United CC faced Strikers CC in the 15th Challengers Cup. Strikers CC batted first and were off to a slow start. Apart from Waqar Saleem, the entire top order failed to impress. Waqar scored 21 runs off 18 balls and was joined by Nadeem Akhtar who went on to score 29 runs off 20 balls. Usman Irfan was the top scorer with his superb knock of 38 runs while batting with the tail. Muhammad Vindani took 3 wickets while Jawwad claimed two scalps for 13 runs. Strickers CC scored 147 runs for the loss of 9 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
United CC had a difficult start to life as their top order collapsed and increased the difficulties for the rest of the batting lineup. A few brief innings by the middle order set up a fightback but it was never enough as Nadeem Akhtar was on top form with the ball. Nadeem took 5 wickets for 20 runs and overpowered Raheel’s 30 runs, which was the top score of the innings. United CC were all out for 112 runs in the second last over. Strikers CC won the match by 35 runs.
