ICT Vs Shan XI (15th Challengers Cup)
A superb batting display from Mehmood Ali saw his side cruise to victory by six wickets against ICT.
ICT batted first and did not get the best of starts as they lost Sabih Merchant quite early in the game. Talha and Adeel then started the repair work. Both scored in 20s but could not turn their starts into big innings as Shan XI kept the pressure on and they kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. This did not allow ICT to build any sort of momentum in their innings. With very little contributions from their entire batting order they could only managed to score 143 in their 20 overs. Kamran Ibrahim was by far the most impressive bowler as he picked up 3 wickets and just for 10 runs in his 4 over spell.
The chase was off to a rocky start as Shan XI lost first 3 wickets quite early and ICT got a real oppurtunity to take control of the match. But not to be, as Iqbal and Mehmood had other plans. They both were in tremendous form and smashed the bowlers around the park. Specifically, Mehmood, he smashed 4 sixes during his marvelous effort of 73 of just 48 balls on the other hand Iqbal gave his great support with his 48 runs knock and they guided their side to a comfortable 6 wicket win in just 18.4 overs.
