KPS Vs Southend Youth (Southend Premier League)
Southend Youth win against KPS, with an all round performance.
The first innings was a short one for KPS who batted first. Losing opener Hayatullah for duck, the team lost wickets too frequently and were never able to recover at any stage. His partner Saleem Khan was the only player to score 54 runs against the ferocious Youth bowling attack. Hasan Shahab was the star bowler for his side, picking up 4 wickets, in 3 overs to completely dismantle the opposition. Afnan Karim and Arbaz Khan did further damage, taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively. The KPS batting order failed tremendously to score decent runs against the lethal bowling attack and were bowled out for only 96 runs in 16 overs.
Southend Youth were off to a flying start when Afnan Karim scored 32 runs for his side despite losing his partner for just 5 runs. He was accompanied by Maeez Waqar and together helped build a partnership to comfortably take their side home. With a small target to chase, KPS bowlers could do little to defend their team's total. Zahid Ali was able to take 1 wicket in his spell. Southend Youth successfully chased down the target in 12.4 overs and won by 9 wickets.
