Daewoo CC Vs Super Daddy (ACM Day T20 League)
Super Daddy managed to clinch victory just narrowly as they won against Daewoo CC by Duckworth-Lewis method.
Daewoo CC batted first and were off to a bright start as their openers looked in terrific touch. Timing the ball sweetly and finding gaps were the order of the partnership and Fahad Jabbar was the main contributor as he smacked every bowler he faced and was in blistering form with the bat, he scored 57 of 34 which included 7 fours and 2 sixes. Ovais Gulzar on the other end, gave him good support but could not bat for long as he was dismissed for 14. Once the openers were dismissed there was not much contribution from the middle order as Super Daddy bowlers came back well. Jasim Talash, Maqbool Ahmed and Salman Yaseen did well to pull their team back in the game, picking up 2 wickets each and breaking the oppositions momentum. But the end was a high one for Daewoo as Usama Sher played a key cameo of 29 of just 12 balls including 4 fours and a six. In the end Daewoo managed to set a target of 153 in 20 overs.
A determined Super Daddys side came out to bat with the opening pair of Shehryar Qadir and Shahzad Jumani got their team off to decent start, running between the wickets and keeping the scoreboard ticking. They both hit 2 fours each before they were dismissed for 16 and 10 respectively. Nadir Akber then took the innings forward and added crucial runs to the team’s total, he scored 35 of 26 and was looking in great touch before a disappointing mix up in the field that resulted in his run out. Super Dadyy stumbled, losing a few wickets in quick succession before Maqbool Ahmed’s brilliant knock of 27 of just 13 brought them back in the game just in time as light got darker and the match was called off due to bad light, which meant that Super Daddy won by Duckworth-Lewis method. Daewoo's bowlers Shahid Ali, Touqeer Nasir and Ejaz took a combined 4 wickets but were unable to defend their team's total.
