It was a big game and both sides were up for the challenge, their body language was positive and both wanted a win. It was a high pressure and a nervy game and it lived up to its expectations as it went down the wire. Chiniot were chasing 164 and even after not so good start, Imran and Mujtaba’s partnership took them close to victory and Bilal Akber’s little cameo in the late stages of the game took them to victory.
Earlier, Riaz Kamal and Safi Qamar gave Hawks side a bright start as they added more than 60 runs together and scored 36 and 34 respectively with 2 fours and 1 six each. Their partnership lifted DMC Hawks spirits but unfortunately for Hawks they both were send back to the pavilion one after another, and soon after their dismissal, Chiniot came back strongly with Dawood, Asif and Yasir picking up 2 wickets each. DMC Hawks had many batsman getting start but none could convert into a big innings and in the end, they posted 161 after their 20 Overs.
Chiniot United had a shocking start as they lost two early wickets, but their nerves got settled as Imran and Mujtaba began the fight back. Mujtaba Suleman smashed 3 massive sixes and scored the only 50 of the match of just 36 balls whereas his partner Imran with 1 six to his name scored 43 crucial runs. After their dismissal, Imran and Muneeb propelled the score forward but not for long as both were dismissed for 13 and 18 respectively. The match entered to an exciting phase when Dawood was dismissed for a duck, but it was Bilal Akbar who held his nerves and steered his side to victory with a little cameo of 13 of 8 and in the end, Chiniot won of the second last ball.
