American Doors Vs Zamzam Sports
16th Challengers Cup
It was one of the strangest scorecards as only two batsmen from American Doors could manage to score in double figures and yet they managed to score 177 in the first innings. When American Doors came out to bat first, they must be ruining their opportunity early on as they lost quick early wickets and their top order was blown away by some quality bowling from Zamzam Sports. Rafiq Khatak and Abdul Shakoor rattled the top order and picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. But after that opening burst, Idrees Amin and Owais Pasta joined each other in the middle and with their partnership they completely changed the scenario of the match. It was as though they were batting on some other pitch as everything struck the middle of their stick and they were in fine hitting form. Idrees Amin scored 62 off 41 balls with 1 six and 8 fours whereas his partner went one step further and scored 89 off 51 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. It was that partnership that took the score to 177.
The momentum was with American Doors when they came out to bowl in the second innings and they made full use of that momentum. They never allowed Zamzam Sports to dictate terms and managed to pick up early wickets and at crucial stages. Hammad was the pick of the bowlers with 3 scalps for just 28 runs whereas Idrees Amin supported him with 2 wickets. The batting was disappointing from Zamzam Sports, most of their batsmen got starts but they could not manage to make it into big innings. Fida Khan was the highest scorer with 25 runs whereas Abdul Shakoor scored 23. But that was not enough as they lost by 29 runs.
