The National Bank of Pakistan Academy took on the Extras in a friendly match played at the Aga Khan Gymkhana.
After deciding to bat first, the Extras were off to a flying start with explosive batsman and opener Atif Ahmad scoring a breath-taking 84 runs in just 37 balls at a strike rate of 227. His cameo included 8 boundaries and 7 huge sixes, which saw the ball travelling to all parts of the ground. Bilal Hayat Khan then continued the momentum with an equally outstanding knock of 70 runs in only 30 balls with 3 fours and 7 sixes to his name. Waseem was the key bowler for the NBP Academy, taking 4 wickets for 33 runs. Extras ended their 20 overs at a huge total of 210 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.
The NBP Academy kicked off their chase in an assertive fashion with opener Kamran scoring a brisk 27 runs of 16 balls with 5 boundaries. Middle order batsman Shah then scored a responsible 45 runs of 41 balls to try and bring his team closer to the target. However the Extras' bowlers dominated with Rangeen Khan picking up 3 wickets for just 14 runs in his 4 overs. Akram also managed to take 2 wickets for 39 runs. The NBP Academy could only manage 177 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Extras won the match by 33 runs.
