F.C. Sports took on the Karachi Demons, in a low scoring, Group C fixture, of the 17th Challengers Cup at the IBA Ground.
F.C. Sports batted first and took off in a positive manner with both openers rotating the strike. Zaeem Siddiqui was the main contributor, scoring 22 runs in only 10 balls, with 2 fours and a six to his name. However, the Karachi Demons fought back, courtesy some exceptional bowling from Umair Adamjee, who finished with figures of 4 overs, 16 runs and 2 wickets. Yasir Fazli also bowled well to take 2 wickets for 19 runs. Nevertheless, Usman Khan came out and scored a dazzling 40 runs in 32 balls (2 fours and 3 sixes) to propel his team to a decent score of 112 runs.
Chasing 113 runs at just over 5.5 runs an over, Karachi Demons took off in a hesitant manner, losing both openers for single figures. However, Ali Mansoor rose to the occasion to score a vital 53 runs in 36 balls, with 9 boundaries, to bring the Demons back on track. Anus Badar shone with the ball, picking up 3 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs, to try and keep his side in a winning position. However, Waqas Wyne led his team home with a confident 20 runs.
Karachi Demons won the match by 4 wickets.
