Okhai Friends Cricket Team v Zahid & Sons- 4th Saleem Jaffrani Tournament- Final
Zahid & Sons batted first in the all important final but found themselves stumbling and bowled out for a modest total. After losing opener Sheraz Khalil for just 6 runs, the team never really recovered, unable to capitalize on some decent starts and losing wickets when most required. Aaqib and Amjed were the most notable contributors for their side with cameos of 23 and 29 runs respectively. Okhai Friends bowlers did well to limit the opposition with Fawad and Irfan leading the attack, picking up 3 wickets each. Imran also took 2 wickets to bowl out Zahid & Sons for only 123 runs in 20 overs.
After a formidable display with the ball, Okhai Friends were confident with openers Fawad and Khuzaima knocking 17 and 18 to set a decent foundation for their side. However, the team imploded thereafter, throwing away their wickets, unable to keep the scoreboard ticking. Asim Imam was impressive in his knock of 29 but 5 of the remaining batsmen were out in single digits. In a complete turnaround, Zahid & Sons bowlers turned up the heat with Muhammad Naqi, Nadeem and Aaqib taking a combined 7 wickets to leave the chasing side in shambles. Okhai Friends were limited to 113 for 9 in 20 overs.
Zahid & Sons won by 10 runs and were crowned champions of the tournament.
