In a Group A fixture of the 17th Challengers Cup, played at the Al Mansoora Ground, Alliance Sports came head to head with the Nazeer Hussain Gymkhana (NHG), in what was a low scoring encounter.
NHG batted first and took off in a positive manner with Farukh Rizvi scoring a run a ball 33, in an innings that included 2 massive sixes. Fellow middle order batsman Talha Bin Haider supported him with a solid knock of 21 runs, with just 1 boundary. The Alliance Sports bowlers were brilliant with the ball, restricting their opponents to just 115 runs. Chasing just 116 runs, the Alliance Sports were off to a fantastic start, with opener Saad Ahmed smacking 49 runs, in 35 balls, with 5 fours and 2 huge maximums to bring his team closer to the win. Raja Saqlain ended the match on a high, scoring 23 runs in only 12 balls, with a four and 2 sixes. For the NHG team, M Aali took 2 wickets for 12 runs in his 2 overs.
