Dhoraji Titans batted first against Vanthali Warriors at the Memon Cricket League (MCL) qualifier and lost both their openers early on for just 1 run. Ahmer Aamir then helped stabilize the innings with a valuable 61 which included 7 boundaries. Adeel Abbasi, Saad Dawood and Ayaz Bhesania also tried to propel the score forward with cameos in their twenties but none were able to build any further. Vanthali Warriors have some of the best bowlers in the league with Shahid Nepal and Naveed Rangoonia taking 2 wickets each to restrict Dhoraji Titans to 142 for 5 in 20 overs.
In response, Vanthali Warriors lost opener Amir Majeed for just 1 run but Rameez Mehboob held the fort on one end. His knock of 42 along with Shezad Suleman's 27 were key in helping Vanthali get over the line. The remaining batsmen were weak against the bowling up, contributing a few cameos but unable to keep their wickets intact for long. Saad Dawood was exceptional with the ball taking 3 wickets in his spell. Adnan Ghazi also picked up 2 wickets but Vanthali Warriors eventually chased down the target in 19.4 overs.
Vanthali Warriors won by 2 wickets and now face Bantva Lions in the qualifiers for the final on Tuesday.
