Muslim Gymkhana batted first at the Al Wakeel Cricket League against Royal Group Falcons this past Saturday. Openers Mirza Shoaib and all star Fahad Jabbar contributed handy knocks of 22 and 31 runs respectively. Royal Group Falcons however continued to keep things tight and the pressure on, picking up wickets in regular intervals. Ahmed Hussain shined with the bat with a brilliant 47 that helped boost his side to 162 for 7 in 20 overs. The other batsmen were unable to make an impression. Falcons bowler Zohaib Wakeel was on fire with an impressive 3 wickets while the rest of the side chipped in to restrict the opposition.
In response, Royal Group were outdone by an unplayable spell by Salman Dossani. After losing opener Kamran for just 1 run, things continued to fall apart for the chasing side. Hamza Tai, Saad Saleem and Arshad Tai provided a glimmer of hope with knocks of 40 and 31 respectively but were unable to build on some decent starts. Salman was ruthless, taking 5 wickets for just 19 runs to completely decimate the opposition. Bilal Omer also chipped in with 2 wickets as Royal Group Falcons were limited to 148 for 9 in 20 overs.
Muslim Gymkhana won by 14 runs.
