Shakir Associates and Mavericks went head to head this past Sunday at the Big Bash Tournament. Batting first, Shakir Associates stumbled early on, losing their top order cheaply. Things continued to fall apart as the team lost quick wickets unable to gain stability at any stage. The lone fighter was Yaqoob Yousuf whose 41 run knock was the only glimmer of hope in the entire innings. Mavericks bowlers were exceptional in restricting the opposition with Adnan Khan and Muhammad Shahrukh picking up 2 wickets each. Shakir Associates were dismissed for 132 in 18.4 overs.
In response, Mavericks were strong in their chase with the top order all chipping in to contribute towards the low target. Agha Hassan Jan and the fiery all rounder Adnan Khan Niazi sealed the victory with knocks of 35 and 38 runs respectively. Mavericks chased down the target in 17.2 over. Shakir's bowlers tried hard but were unable to defend their team's total.
