F.C Sports batted first against ICT in the all important 18th Challengers Cup quarter final. F.C Sports lost opener Farhan Kamal for just 3 runs and one down Sohaib Naseem for duck and were reeling at one stage. Ejaz Shah and Wasif Mustafa then tried to steer the innings with knocks of 30 and 47 respectively to try and save their side. Humair also contributed 33 lower down the order but ICT bowlers kept things tight. The bowling side continued to pick up wickets in regular intervals to stop the flow of runs. Ahmed Hussain took 2 wickets for his side while the rest of the unit chipped in. F.C Sports ended at 150 for 6 in 20 overs.
ICT wasted no time in the chase with openers Ahmed Hussain and Talha Ahmedani setting up a comfortable victory. Ahmed scored 47 not out while Talha's explosive 50 came off just 13 balls at an outstanding strike rate of over 300! Ali Iqbal then stepped in with 39 as ICT chased down the target in 9.2 overs. F.C Sports bowlers held no chance and despite Shah Zaman's 2 wickets, the bowlers were hammered for plenty of runs.
ICT won by 8 wickets.
