Ridan Warriors batted first against ICT in an exciting match of 18th Challengers Cup. The highlight of the match was Bilal Chinioty from Ridan Warriors who stole the show with his stupendous ton. Bilal played a dexterous knock of 118 runs off just 65 deliveries. He smashed 10 sixes too in his centurion innings and remained unbeaten. Yasir Tanveer also smashed 34 runs off his bat in the concluding overs with a marvellous strike rate of 200. Ridan Warriors, at the end of 20 overs, set a humongous score of 199 runs for the loss of only one wicket. ICT bowlers were terrible at their job as they got brutally hammered. They remained wicket-less except for Shahzeb who picked up 1 wicket.
ICT in reply tried to play fast in order to keep themselves up with the required pace. The batsmen showed an amazing teamwork and everybody was ready to continue from where their fellows had left. The main performance was given by Ali Iqbal who played a splendid innings of 72 runs when it was needed the most. Other cameos like Talha’s 21, Sabih’s 24 and Anas’ 27 helped ICT to easily chase a massive target of 200 runs with even 5 deliveries to spare. Ridan bowlers easily let the match slip out of their hands even though their job was made quite easy by their batsmen. Naveed and Afnan picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively but all of this was useless as the bowlers failed to control the flow of runs and gave everything away.
ICT won by 2 wickets and are through to the finals!
