The Careem & KheloKricket Gully Ka Hero Tournament kicked off on Saturday 10th March with Gulshan Kings and Nazimabad Knights going head to head.
Gulshan Kings batted first but both openers were bowled out by Sonu for just 8 runs. One down Rana then lead the recovery with a fiery 35 further supported by Mustafa's 18 runs. None of the other bowlers could pick wickets as Gulshan Kings ended at 78 for 3 in 6 overs (There was 1 run out)
In response, Nazimabad Knights lost too many wickets too fast in the chase. Besides opener Osama Ahmed's explosive 32, none of the other batsmen were able to keep their wickets intact. Kings bowlers did very well against the opposition with Hammad and Mustafa taking 2 wickets each. Nazimabad Knights were limited to 55 for 4 in 6 overs.
Gulshan Kings won by 24 runs.
Match#2- Nazimabad Knights v Johar Giants
Johar Giants batted first against Nazimabad Knights and dominated throughout the innings. Opener Waseem was outstanding, smashing 53 off just 15 balls with an incredible strike rate of over 300 including 6 sixes! Maqbool also chipped in with 21 as Johar Giants ended at a mammoth score of 102 for 2 in 6 overs. Nazimabad Knights bowlers were simply helpless.
In response, Nazimabad Knights simply fell apart with none of their players able to keep the scoreboard ticking. The team continued to lose wickets with Saddam taking 2 wickets and Taha, Maqbool and Waseem picking up a wicket each. For Knights, Osama Ahmed and Haseeb Naeem were the most notable players for their side with 14 runs each. Nazimabad Knights ended at 69 for 7 in 6 overs.
Johar Giats won by 34 runs.
