Extras batted first against Sons of Pitches in a friendly match and lost opener Rafeh Ahmed for just 2 runs. The team however recovered spectacularly after that with much help from the duo of Hamza and Bilal. The seasoned pair smashed 71 and 53 runs respectively to boost Extras to a very competitive 165 for 5 in 20 overs. SOP bowler Murtaza Salim was in form and on fire, taking 3 wickets in his spell.
In response, Sons of Pitches were off to a similar start with star opener Zubair Arif being dismissed cheaply early on in the innings. However, Farhad Khans's 38 and Haseeb's 70 were the driving force behind the chase pulling their side right back in the game. With the top order setting the foundation, 17 and 18 by skipper Kumail and Babar Shaikh helped Sons of Pitches chase down the target in 17 overs. Extras bowlers were weak against the opposition.
