What a show by Royal Stars against Atlas Copco this past weekend. Batting first, stars opener Rab Nawaz was dismissed cheaply for just 5 runs but the rest of the side blazed through. Umair's explosive 69 off 35 included 7 boundaries. Shaheer Azim's 58 off 36 left the Atlas bowlers helpless and eventually Yasir's 58 off 29 posted an unchaseable 229 in 20 overs for the loss of just 4 wickets. Atlas bowlers were decimated despite Owais picking up 2 wickets.
In response, Atlas needed to pull off something extraordinary to chase down the target. The team however lost their footing, unable to keep their wickets intact and build a partnership. Farrukh's fighting 36 and Owais and Qamber's cameos in their twenties tried to pull Atlas over the line but the total was too big to chase. Shaheer Azim was having the game of his life, taking 2 wickets while Waleed also took 3. Atlas Copco ended at 161 for 8.
