Continental CC batted first against Edge XI in a match that turned out to be a one sided affair. Continental lost their opener Umer Hayat on the first ball of the innings for duck but recovered well after that. Majid Khan, Muhammad Aamir and Hasnain Raza put up a solid resistance, knocking 55, 40 and 43 runs respectively to pull their team back in the game and post a very competitive total. Edge XI bowlers were unable to control the flow of runs and despite picking up wickets, they were hit for plenty. Waqas also smashed 31 runs as Continental CC ended at 216 for 6 in 20 overs. Zohaib Mir and Zahid took 2 wickets each.
With a mammoth target to chase, scoreboard pressure was always there and Edge XI crumbled. Opener Naseer Khan was dismissed early on for 2 runs but his partner Naseer Khan was impressive on the top. His knock of 65 runs set the foundation for his side but none of the other batsmen could capitalise on it. Faisal Mughal tried to put up a fight with 26 runs but 8 of the remaining batsmen were out in single digits. Continental bowling duo Waqas and Aurangzaib were in form and on fire, taking 3 wickets each to dismiss Edge XI for just 116 in 14.1 overs.
Continental CC won by 92 runs.
