A very exciting encounter took place between Rising stars and Gulberg Gymkhana for the 21st Challengers Cup. Rising Stars batted first and Naveed with 33 runs and Faizan with 43 runs showed some promise while the other batsmen got starts but were out to loose shots. Rising Stars ended at 145 for 9 in 20 overs. For Gulberg Gymkhana, Atif was the star wicket taker with 3 wickets while Abbas took 2 wickets and Talha, Abdul Kareem and Faisal picked up a wicket each.
In reply, Gulberg Gymkhana lost Kashif early for 2 runs and Farhan for 3 runs but M Kashif contributed a valuable 27 runs, M Zubair scored 39 runs and Hasan Qazi was impressive with 45 runs to bring their team close and the match went down to the wire with 1 run needed off the last ball with two wickets in hand which Gulberg Gymkhana managed to score and they barely scraped home in this extremely exciting encounter. Credit also goes to Rising Stars bowlers who fought till the end defending a low score as Zeeshan took 2 wickets while Mustafa, Naveed, Bilal and Faizan got a wicket each and there were 2 run outs.
