Alliance Sports and Shark CC went head to head at the 21st Challengers Cup. Shark CC batted first and lost opener Kamran Kalam to a beauty by Ahsan Lakhani on the very first ball of the innings. The top order continued to lose wickets and were dismissed cheaply with the exception of Yaseen Khan who tried to stabilize his side knocking 47 runs. Salman Ali also contributed a valuable 31 runs lower down the order as Shark CC ended at a modest 124 for 9 in 20 overs. Ahsan Lakhani was in prime form picking up 3 wickets for his side.
In response, the second innings had us at the edge of our seats. Khurram Rangila and Talha Butt got their team off to a decent start with knocks of 28 runs and Talha sticking to his wicket with 70 not out. The team however imploded after that with 5 of the batsmen being dismissed in single digits! Shark CC bowlers kept at it on the other end with some exceptional bowling and fielding to snatch a victory. Asad Ali took 2 wickets and there were 2 run outs towards the end that restricted Alliance Sports to 116 for 7 in 20 overs.
Shark CC won by 8 runs.
