Shaikhani Fighters batted first against Foundation Estate CC at the all important final of the Shaikhani Premier League (SPL) Season 2! The team however lost key opener Bilal Lakhani for duck with an unfortunate run out by Abdullah Yaqoob. His partner Kamran Ibrahim followed soon after, being dismissed for just 10 runs. One down Shahbaz Aarbi however kept at it with a match defining 58 runs that helped stabilize his side. Fareeq Yaqoob and Salman Sheikhani provided further support with cameos of 24 and 27 runs respectively as Shaikhani Fighters ended at a very competitive 170 for 6 in 20 overs. Ibrahim, Asim, Azeem and Basit picked up a wicket each but couldn't pull back the opposition after a decent start.
In response, Foundation Estate started off strong with openers Abdullah Yaqoob scoring 37, Shahzaib Dyer chipped in with 30 and Farhad Khalid's 26 but the team's run with the bat ended there. The team lost 8 of the subsequent batsmen for single digits as Fighters bowlers were ruthless against the opposition. Fayyaz Hussain took 2 wickets and with a couple or run outs and an all around strong performance by the bowling unit dismissed Foundation Estate for 129 runs in 19 overs.
Shaikhani Fighters won by 41 runs.
