What a thriller between Planet 01 CC and Garden Stallions!
Batting first, Planet 01 CC had a rough day out after losing opener Sarim for just 2 runs. Opener Akhlaq's 31 and one down Hammaz Azeem's 26 helped stabilize their side. The team however continued to lose wickets in a hurry, unable to capitalize on some decent cameos. Hammad Masood's 26 and 15 valuable runs by Umar Khan saw Planet 01 to 126 for 6 in 20 overs. Bilal Fareed lead the attack with 3 key wickets while the rest of the unit kept things tight. Fayyaz Yousuf picked up a couple of wickets as well.
In response, the 2nd innings was much too close with Garden Stallions falling short by just a single run! After opener Fayyaz Yousuf was dismissed cheaply for 4 runs, the team could not keep their wickets intact. Abdul Basit's 26 and Shayan's 17 threatened to build a decent partnership but Planet 01's bowlers did well to get the breakthroughs they needed. Bilal Fareed's 25 and Muhammad Bilal's explosive 34 off 19 almost saw their side to a win but just could not get over the line. Planet's bowler Akhlaq and Hammad Masood took 2 wickets each as Garden Stallions ended at 125 for 7 in 20 overs.
