Allied Engineering batted first against Bayer Pakistan at the Magnus Sports- 28th Challengers Corporate Cup.
The team however simply could not get going at any stage, throwing away their wickets cheaply without contributing to the score. Adil Fayyaz saved his side from a complete collapse with a fighting 53 off 41 but was the only player to show any intent. Bayer's bowlers were relentless, taking wickets throughout the innings. Aqeel, Usman, Farroukh took 2 wickets each to restrict Allied Engineering to 121 for 9 in 20 overs.
In response, Bayer Pakistan stumbled to victory. The chasing side lost opener Farroukh for just 2 runs but managed to scrape a few cameos to get over the line in 17.1 overs. Daniyal Naqvi and Imran Mahmood were the most notable batsmen for their side with 33 runs each. Ahsan Naseer fought hard to try and defend the total with 3 wickets in his spell.
