Secure Networks batted first against Karachi Gymkhana at the Trend Micro 29th Challengers Corporate Cup.
Secure Networks were off to a rocky start after losing their opener Pervaiz Ali and one down Asad Affendi cheaply. Umair Ali however took charge with an impressive 65 off 49 which included 5 fours and 2 sixes. Rana Adresh and Ali Nasim from the middle order then further executed the success plan and played some quick innings. Adresh made 25 while Ali scored 36 runs. Secure Networks managed to pull off 184 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Karachi Gymkhana bowlers though picking up wickets in regular intervals failed to control the leakage of runs. Mavia, Shajani, and Abdur Rehman picked up 2 wickets each from the bowling side.
Karachi Gymkhana, in reply, didn’t play according to the required pace. They had an individual performance of Shaaz Shajani who scored 41 runs and cameos from Arsalan, Bilal, Fareed, and Sufiyan but none of their innings were according to the required run-rate. Secure Networks bowlers easily restricted the opponents to 142 runs by picking up wickets on the right time. Rana Adresh and Bilal Munir from Networks bagged 2 wickets each.
Secure Networks won the match by 42 runs.
