Auto Mall batted first against Royal Group Falcons at the Al Wakeel Cricket League Season 3. The batting side however were a complete mess with the exception of Arif Yaqoob who singlehandedly set up a respectable total for his side. Despite the top order being dismissed in single digits, opener Arif remained unaffected in his knock of 92 off 66 including 10 fours and 3 sixes. Falcons bowlers did well to restrict the opposition, picking up wickets throughout with Saqib Khan leading the attack with a brilliant 3 wicket spell. Daniyal Liaquat also took 2 wickets with the rest of the unit chipping in as Auto Mall ended at 158 for 9 in 20 overs.
In response, despite losing opener Ismail Shah for duck, Royal Group comfortably raced to victory. Shahid Mirani got the momentum going with a blistering 21 off 7 but it was really Daniyal Liaquat who played the key role for his side. The all rounder knocked 73 off 48 and despite a flurry of quick wickets on the other end, Ali Bantva's 30 off 37 and 20 extremely valuable extras helped Royal Group to victory in 18.4 overs. Auto Mall bowlers tried to take wickets but couldn't effectively capitalize on their breakthroughs. Syed Jawad Ali and Nadir Shah took 2 wickets each.
