The Magnus 28th Challengers Corporate Cup featured a one-sided final display as Abbott took on Toyota Indus Motors.
Abbott batted first and were unable to take significant advantage of this opportunity. Their batting display seemed weak and unstructured. The openers got off to a slow start and lost their wickets without laying a solid platform for the team. Haq Nawaz's 24 off 15 was the only batting effort over the strike rate of 100. Syed Asad Ali and Safeer Zaman bowled in a disciplined manner, picking up two wickets apiece. Their efforts kept Abbott in check throughout the first innings as the scoreboard nudged along sluggishly. The team collectively managed just 116 runs at the loss of 9 wickets after 20 overs.
Toyota Indus made a meal of this small chase. Farhan Ahmed's blazing 54 off 17 balls completely turned the match into a one-sided affair. Striking the ball at over 300, he managed to hit 4 fours and 5 sixes. With his efforts, the other batsmen had to contribute very little to get the team over the line. The second innings wrapped up inside 12 overs, with Toyota having lost just the 2 wickets.
The combined brilliance of their bowlers and batsmen earned Toyota Indus a victory in the final clash by 8 wickets, alongside the tournament title.
