The Horizon Cricket Championship was lit up by a great contest between Arham CC and Eaton.
Arham CC batted first in this 40-over game. The start of their innings was unimpressive as the openers were dismissed quickly. Imran Shah made 38 off 45 balls to give his team a platform. Waqas at No. 6 complemented Shah's batting with a brilliant 91 from 68, smashing 6 fours and 5 sixes in the process. From Eaton's side, Fahadis Bukhari and Ashiq Ali picked two wickets apiece to keep the batsmen quiet. Operating at under 6 runs an over, the end of Arham CC's 40-over innings lacked the necessary flourish to get them to 250. In the end, they settled for 226 at the loss of 9 wickets.
In response, Eaton initiated their chase well, despite losing Asad Shafiq early. Usman Javed and Ammad Alam consolidated a partnership, which kept the scoreboard ticking at above 6 an over. Their impressive striking set a very solid foundation for Eaton to chase down the target. However, Muhammad Talha interrupted the run flow, striking 3 times at crucial junctures of the game. The lower middle order salvaged the chase, contributing with small scores of 20s and 30s. The batting side was able to wrap up the game with 11 balls to spare.
