Medicam batted first against Gladiators at the DCCL with opener Abdul Basit Zaki turning up the heat! The opener scored an impressive 89 off just 51 balls including 10 boundaries and 3 sixes. Umer Chawla did well to provide support with a valuable 44 as Medicam posted a substantial total of 182 in 20 overs. Gladiators bowlers picked wickets but were unable to really break the batting side’s momentum. Sohaib Nasir tried to keep the opposition in check with his 3 wickets while Shariq and Yasir took a wicket each.
In response, Gladiators made a complete mess of the chase. After losing opener Sohaib cheaply, the team imploded with 2 disastrous run outs and an over all super performance by the Medicam bowlers to bamboozle Gladiators to just 94 for 9 in 20 overs. Ali Arif was the only player to show any kind of fight with his knock of 37 runs. Daniyal Tahir was unplayable, taking 5 wickets in his spell for just 13 runs aiding the Gladiators collapse.
Medicam won by huge margin of 88 runs.
