The final match of the Golden Gate Tournament ensued between Sunrise CC and Nazimabad Fighters. Sunrise CC batted first with their top order failing to deliver. It was Daniyal Liaquat’s match saving 68 that helped their side reach a very competitive 161 for 6 in 18 overs. None of the other batters were able to effectively contribute. Nazimabad bowlers did well to take early wickets but could not capitalize further later in the game.
In response, Nazimabad Fighters made quick work of the total, chasing it down in just 16.2 overs. Their openers got their side of to a flying start. Omer Khan scored a fiery 52 off 45 while Saif Ali boosted the total further with his 66 runs helping their side to an easy win. Sunrise CC bowlers struggled to pick wickets early and eventually were hammered all round the ground for plenty. Shahid was the most effective bowler for his side, picking up 2 wickets.
Nazimabad Fighters won by 7 wickets and are champions of the Golden Gate tournament.
