MF Roomi Strikers batted first against Chiniot Kangaroos in a tightly matched contest at the Community Cricket League final. Strikers batted first losing their top 3 batters cheaply before Umair Usman stepped in to save his side. Umair scored an explosive 85 off 61, pulling his side back in the game while Shehzad Suleman kept the momentum going with his fiery 51. MF Roomi Strikers recovered well, ending at 182 for 6 in 20 overs. Despite picking early wickets, the Kangaroo bowlers could not capitalize any further, leaking too many runs in the innings. Danish Alvi delivered a solid spell, taking 2 wickets.
In response, Chiniot Kangaroos made a complete mess of this chase. The batters continued to lose wickets and despite getting of to a few decent starts, they could never really get going. Mubashir Ejaz’s 27 and a valiant 33 by Ibrahim Tahir were the only real contributors as Chiniot Kangaroos ended at 172 for 8 in 20 overs. Strikers bowlers did well to keep the pressure on with Salman Dossani taking 3 wickets in his spell. Naveed was also brilliant, picking up a couple at an unbelievably low economy rate.
MF Roomi Strikers won by 10 runs and were crowned champions.
