Day 2 of the KheloKhavateen Ramzan women’s night tournament powered by Daraz was off to a flyer with Group C battling it out for the top position.
Pro Athletic batted first against Karachi Thunders with Sana Taj lighting up the ground. The opener scored 22 off 21 balls. She however received little support on the other end with both Yusra and Maryam being run out but poor discipline from Thunders bowlers lead to 35 extras. Pro Athletic set a target of 77 in 6 overs. In response, Karachi Thunders were simply unable to get going. Samra was the highest scorer for their side with 9 runs. They ended at 31 for 2 in 6 overs. Pro Athletic won by 45 runs.
Match#2 was played between Disco Ninjas and Pro Athletic CC. Pro Athletic CC batted first with Yusra and Marium scoring the bulk of the runs with innings of 16 and 24 respectively. Ninjas bowlers did well to contain the opposition with Saira and Ilsa picking up a wicket each. Pro Athletic ended at 68 for 2 in 20 overs. In response, Disco Ninjas came out with guns blazing; Saira Umar scored an explosive 27 off 12 alongside Ilsa who knocked a handy 16 runs. The Ninjas chased down the target in 4.5 overs.
The final match of the night was between Disco Ninjas and Karachi Thunders. Thunders batters could not get bat to ball but it was 55 extras given by Disco Ninjas that helped their side post a healthy target of 67 in 6 overs. In response, Disco Ninjas made quick work of the total with skipper Saira’s 41 off 13 finishing the game off in style. Ilsa kept her company with a contribution of 15 runs as Disco Ninjas chased down the target in 3.4 overs.
Disco Ninjas qualified for the next round.
