Irfan Ali Qasmi’s 5-for lead Numbers to championship glory

Numbers batted first & their openers Rasheed Ahmed and Salman Ali, got off to a blazing start, with Ahmed smashing 53 runs off just 19 deliveries, including some powerful hitting. Ali contributed a quickfire 18 runs off 9 balls. Sheraz Chuhan played a supporting role, scoring 26 runs off 20 deliveries. However, it was Khalil Ahmed who stole the show with a magnificent innings, smashing 60 runs off just 32 balls, including some big hits to the boundary. Hussain Raza remained unbeaten on 39 runs off 23 balls, providing a strong finish to the Numbers’ innings. Unfortunately, the rest of the batsmen couldn’t make significant contributions as they struggled to capitalize on the platform set by the top order. Farooq Haider and Muhammad Aftab from Group M Pakistan’s bowling attack managed to pick up two wickets each, trying to contain the scoring rate. Numbers posted a challenging total of 237 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Chasing the mammoth target of 237 runs, Group M Pakistan faced a disastrous start as they lost five wickets within the powerplay. Their whole batting lineup collapsed under the pressure exerted by the Numbers’ bowlers. Zakir Bilal emerged as the only batsman who put up a fight, scoring a commendable 49 runs off just 26 deliveries. However, it was Irfan Ali Qasmi from Numbers who wreaked havoc on Group M Pakistan’s batting lineup. Qasmi displayed exceptional bowling skills, picking up a remarkable 5-wicket haul. Salman Ali also contributed with three wickets, adding to the misery of Group M Pakistan’s batting collapse as they were bowled out for 89 runs in 10.4 overs.
